BIOGRAPHY

Zuzanna Małgorzata Budzyńska (born 1997 in Radzyń Podlaski, Poland) won the 2nd prize at the Antonio Vivaldi International Competition Vienna in 2018. A year later she released her debut album POLONAISES, recorded together with Szymon Ogryzek (piano). The album has been very well reviewed by the ResMusica (France) and PIZZICATO (Luxembourg) and the musicians have been proclaimed the perfect duo by the Jazz Era Magazine. POLONAISES has secured the musicians the prestigious Coryphaeus of the Polish Music Prize - one of the most valued Polish artistic awards. In 2021 Budzyńska has been nominated for the Artistic Award of the City of Lublin, where Henryk Wieniawski was born.

 

Zuzanna is a prizewinner of many international music competitions, i.a. in Poland, Austria, France, Great Britain, Denmark, Sweden, Russia, Canada, and Singapore, and has been the finalist of the Student's Noble Prize in 2020. She has been a scholarship holder of the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage, the Polish Prime Minister, and the Société Générale Bank. For her engagement in the promotion of Polish music, in particular this of Karol Lipiński (the famous rival of Niccolo Paganini, who was born in Radzyń Podlaski as well), she has been granted many awards and scholarships from the Lubelskie Voivodeship. She has been supported by the Polish National Children's Fund and the "Young Poland" Scholarship of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. She is a member of the Harvard Club of Poland and the winner of the 6. Path to Harvard Competition 2015.

Budzyńska is an artist of the Polish Music Agency and the Italian Le Dimore del Quartetto. She is a member of Cuore Piano Trio and the Polish Soloists. She has performed with the LGT Young Soloists in Abu Dhabi (UAE) and with the members of the Polish National Philharmonic Orchestra in Warsaw. Her chamber music partners include artists such as Christian Altenburger, Reinhard Latzko, Janusz Wawrowski, Marcin Zdunik, or Grzegorz Skrobiński.

She performed with many orchestras as a soloist, i.a. with the Warsaw Chamber Opera Sinfonietta, Płocka Symphony Orchestra, Zenon Brzewski Warsaw String Orchestra, "Archetti" Chamber Orchestra, and the Moscow Chamber Orchestra "Musica-Viva". She performed in many renowned Polish concert halls, as well as in Germany, Austria, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, United Arab Emirates, Russia, and the USA.

Budzyńska regularly takes part in crossover projects, which include performances and CD recordings with artists such as Włodzimierz Nahorny, Janusz Strobel, Aleksander Dębicz, Łukasz Kuropaczewski or sanah. She recorded for Warner Music, DUX Recording Producers, and Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, and she has new recordings planned for the upcoming season.

Currently she is a student of Christian Altenburger and Avedis Kouyoumdjian at Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien in Vienna. Previously she studied with Edward Zienkowski (violin) and Marialena Fernandes (chamber music), as well as Krystyna Makowska-Ławrynowicz and Dariusz Smolarski. In 2021 she graduated magna cum laude from the F. Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where she studied with Andrzej Gębski.

The violinist took part in many masterclasses, such as the Musikfestival Zell am See, Orpheus Academy (Austria), Stringtime Niederrhein Goch (Germany), the Zenon Brzewski International Music Courses in Łańcut and the KFnrD Music Courses in Lusławice (Poland). She took lessons from artists such as Wolfgang Marschner, Rosa Rain, Michael Frischenschlager, Sergey Kravchenko or Kaja Danczowska. She took part in an open masterclass with Maxim Vengerov in 2019.
